P2
Eddie Redmayne: His hair and slim build, along with his great performance for an awkward character, would fit perfectly for the role of Max. Eddie Redmayne has featured in films such as Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them, The Theory of Everything and The Danish Girl.
Emma Stone: She would fit the personality and look of Lauren well as she shows a great performance in La La Land, along with her dedication to for a role. She has also been in The Favourite, The Amazing Spider-Man and Birdman.
Ansel Elgort: He would fit the role of Jack as he shows a great performance in Baby Driver, and the character personality in that film is similar to mine for this role. He has also acted in The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent and November Criminals.
Cate Blanchett: She would fit the role of Lucy Robinsonn as she shows a strong performance as a villain in Thor: Ragnarok. She has also acted in Ocean's 8, Cinderella and The Lord of the Rings.
c) Target Audience
The target age range is 25 - 40 year olds who like time travel related stories, with diverse interest. It would be both males and females who enjoy science fiction films and are a fan of films like Back To The Future and Ready Player One. The reason for this is because my film is about time travel has quite similar characteristics as it is about changing the past to fix the present/future, with a futuristic world. The fast paced action in Ready Player One. The dramatic conclusion at the end may not appeal to everyone though, as stereo typically films have a good ending, but some may appreciate the change in predictability. Furthermore, people who enjoy reading books like The Time Machine by H. G. Wells, as this has similar characteristics. People who like Science fiction stories generally like science and the way it can be presented in film. The actors in my film are middle class people, as they come across that way when acting. Therefore, this will appeal to middle class people who possibly are into issues such as climate change, which my film is about world problems.

e) Production Schedule

Post-Production:
Launch Date
The theatrical release date of my film will be 10th May 2020. I chose this date because summer is a great time to release a film as this is when people are out the most and this allows the film to be seen by a range of people. This is when teenagers are out of school and majority of adults will be on their holiday break. As my target audience is 15 - 40 year old's, this is the best time to promote the film.
Contingency Plan
1. Damaged Equipment
- Make sure that there is backup equipment for extra precaution. If equipment does break, follow the instructions of the insurance policy, and have spare equipment if necessary.
2. Bad Weather
- Reschedule as soon as possible, when the weather improves. If the weather gets too bad, we may have to move location, or move the overall production date and push back the release date.
3. Unable to film on location
- Ensure that we have strong permission to film on the sites to avoid this. If we encounter issues with the owner/location manager, then we may have to move location.
f) Legal/Ethical
Legal & Ethical issues
In terms of photo shoot, this might be in terms of
misrepresentation, copyright, royalties
LEGAL
In terms
of legal issues, these tends to be about who owns the rights to something, or
whether you are slandering (saying something about someone that is not true),
or sometimes it can be a legal issue of making sure your content is not
breaking the law (as in there is no suffering to animals depicted)
ETHICAL
Ethics
are more of a minefield and there are certain ethical considerations that we
have in the west that are important to understand. Ethics is about what society
views as right.
Such as
– is there a balance between male/female genders
If there
are, are these stereotypical roles (eg
powerful and strong male, weak female
often dressed provocatively)
Is there
swearing, are there weapons?
Southpark
is controversial because a lot of people disapprove of its ethics. However, the
producers might argue that it is for a small cult audience who are adult enough
to know what is right and what is wrong.
What are
the legal and ethical issues of your production and can you justify them?
(Delete
rows or add to them as applicable)
LEGAL
Issue
|
Solved or justified?
|
Copyright
|
There
may be copyright issues with this film. The way that we will sort this is to
buy rights to use certain logos, and possibly get a sponsorship, such as a
car company for the vehicles used.
|
Health
and Safety
|
There
will be a use of a fake gun in this film. This will be a legal issue, and we
will need to get a license to own this gun and perform with it on set.
|
Certification
|
There
may be an issue where some scenes there are younger people who are
distressed. To get around this we will put the appropriate BBFC age rating on
to warn those who are too young to watch.
|
ETHICAL
Issue
|
Solved or justified?
|
Promoting
act of suicide
|
There
is a scene that will contain an actress killing herself. In the credits we
will have a part that claims that the scenes are fictional and not real.
|
Violence
|
There
will be violence in this short film, but this will be clear in the age rating
and description for the film, and no one on set will be genuinely harmed.
|
Swearing
|
There
will be mild swearing in this film, and the way to justify this is to add an
age rating.
|
The film will be a 12A via the BBFC. There will be some swearing, but not enough to be a 15. The film is quite similar to Ready Player One's PG-13, but with more swearing as this will make the film funnier. I am also thinking of the target audience, so getting the rating down to a 12A means more viewers can see the film. This film will be unsuitable for viewers under the age of 12. There will be no blood and guts. There will be mild violence. There is a fight scene in my film, which gets violent but with no blood and guts.
